Led the team which, in 1986, invented the world’s first high-performance micro-XRF spectrometer (Omicron), including x-ray analysis and elemental mapping. Also led the team which developed the hardware and software for the world’s leading general-purpose laboratory XRF spectrometer, at the time, the Kevex 770 (later 771).Developed the specifications and managed the team which developed software that subsequently became the company standard for use in all other x-ray spectrometers, including the Omicron, Semicron, and Sigma EDS microanalyzer for attachment to SEMs and TEMs. There was a total installed base of over 700 customers who used this software.Was the senior XRF guru at Kevex who advised all departments of the company on aspects of product testing and documentation for marketing, manufacturing and customer service. Provided internal and external training classes in the use of the company’s XRF products.
