This included multiple discussions around leveraging vGPU technologies for certain workloads that had previously always required a physical workstation. Resulted in substantial cost savings to the project.• Provided executive level briefing explaining the CapEx and OpEx savings of moving the enterprise to VMware’s Horizon VDI solution.• Automated security requirements through development of PowerShell modules reducing manual efforts by the IT operational achieving a 90% reduction in time previously spent on these efforts.

• Provided technical guidance on modernizing IT infrastructure across all government networks. The solutions that were developed were eventually bought off on by government stakeholders, and implemented. • Redesigned existing group policy structure. This helped to remove duplicates, streamline the login process, and fix numerous errors. Results saw login times reduced by over 50%. • Provided leadership in technical discussions and projects to ensure all customer requirements were met. Was able to effectively meet both internal and external customer requirements, while ensuring costs were under budget.• Successfully upgraded storage, server, and switches throughout three separate networks to standardize equipment, and ensure the operational team could easily maintain the environment. This saw an increase in the efficiency in the operation’s team ability to maintain the infrastructure hardware.

• Provided insight and expertise on moving from standard LUNs to virtual volumes (vVOls). This provided more flexibility and lowered operational requirements around monitoring existing LUNs.• Worked to standardize the existing Cisco UCS servers throughout the environment to conform to VMware best practices for NUMA settings, based on physical memory and CPU socket configurations. Successfully got the vendor to fix several design flaws ensuring optimal operation of servers.

• Provided subject matter expertise for VMware solutions throughout the enterprise, including vSphere, Horizon, and Workspace ONE. • Provided vital documentation and knowledge that helped get a $1 million VDI project approved. Provided executive level management with the required information to make informed decisions, and showed a cost savings of over $850,000 over three years.• Designed, built, and managed the deployment of four vSphere 6.5 environments, running a Horizon 7 Pod spanning multiple sites. This included configuring the Nimble SAN, Brocade Fibre Channel switches, and working with our network administrator to ensure VLANs and port configurations were set up per our needs and best practices.• Maintained entire Horizon VDI environment across multiple networks and locations, and supporting over 500+ users.

• Used PowerShell to create scripts to automate numerous tasks including, logon scripts, reports, all Active Directory duties, software installs, and many different VMware scripts including server build automation, reporting on the virtual environment, deletion of virtual machines per DoD STIG requirements, and more via PowerCLI.• Rebuilt the Kwajalein school infrastructure from the ground up including upgrades to hardware, as well as migrated all servers from ESX 4 to ESXi 5.5 and migrated operating systems from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 R2.• Initiated, developed, and executed a successful project to migrate the Kwajalein School District from Exchange 2003 to Google Apps. Installed new software and hardware as needed and compiled inventory lists for all hardware.
