I serve on the main campus as a chaplain to patients and thier families. My patients are primarily receiving care for stroke and other neurological conditions. I attend to spiritual and emotional needs by creating a safe environment to openly share, while I listen empathetically. I collaborate with other chaplains, doctors, nurses, case managers and others to provide the best care to our patients. I rotate on-call duties, both during normal hours and overnight/weekend shifts. While on call I attend to traumas and critical care patients. As part of this residency I am earning three additional units of Clinical Pastoral Education at a ACPE accredited site.
