Operations Manager / Duty holder for FSO Apollo Spirit operating in the UK North SeaBeing the Operations Manager/Duty Holder I am responsible for day to day management of all aspect of the FSO Apollo Spirit operations. As the central coordinator between HSE, Teekay Petrojarl, CNR, Apollo Spirit, Class and Flag State I have been exposed to a broad scope of work, working closely with the parties involved to ensure a safe and efficient operation of the FSO. Major Responsibilities Ensuring effective operational communications and reporting are in place and maintained between USS, CNR International Ltd. and the Teekay Petrojarl Production AS Banff Operations Team both on and offshore. Provide expert advice to the Petrojarl Banff operations team on all issues relation to the operation of the Apollo Spirit. Being the point of contact between USS and the HSE on all day to day Safety Case issues and Safety related matters including the submission of appropriate OIR9b reports Being USS representative in the Teekay Petrojarl Production AS emergency response team and in the event of an FSO emergency or a Banff field emergency. Evaluate the operational organization onshore and offshore on a continuous basis to ensure safety objectives are met. This includes revision of Safety Management System documentation and procedures. The Apollo Spirit Safety Case, which includes responsibility for maintaining/updating it. Ensure vessel technical and HSE management adhered to, as per USS – TSO contract. Provide critical evaluation of vessel performance and recommend safe, cost effective improvements as appropriate.

Responsible for onshore support to Balmoral floating Production platform and Tiffany fixed leg platform. Duties include, onshore repairs, engineering projects from draft to completion, vendor liaison to ensure best value for AGIP, set and maintain yearly budget of around £5 million. Compilation of life of field budgets, prepare / review and issue scope of work for maintenance contracts and major overhaul / shutdown work such as Rolls Royce RB211, Nuovo Pignone PGT10, Ruston TB5000, Dresser compressors etc. Compilation of data room and organised inspections for the sale of Balmoral FPV. Subsea support i.e. company representative onboard diving vessels for well intervention, regular visits offshore for both maintenance and construction activities.Set up and carry new inspection philosophy for the 5 yearly chain inspection for Balmoral FPV, this deviated from the DNV standard of the 8 chains being inspected in air, to 1 in air inspection and the remaining 7 being inspected by ROV using real time photography, this has been accepted by DNV which is significant in its self, as it is the first time this type of inspection has been applied, saving significant time and money. Project managed flare tip change outs on both Tiffany and Balmoral using helicopter replacement method

Ensuring that a register of relief valves is kept up to date and valves recertified when required. Supervise major turbine and gas compressor overhauls Involved in the compilation of Balmoral Safety Case and allocated responsibilities in the platform Safety Management System such as Technical Authority and Custodian for elements in the Safety Case and operations procedures. Stand in for Maintenance Supervisor and Operations Supervisor on a regular basis.Responsible for the day to day preventive maintenance on process and marine equipment, and major breakdown and overhaul on such equipment as Ruston TB5000 service, brake band changes on Hepburn Dual Windlasses, installation and commissioning of Dresser Rand Centrifugal Compressor, and carrying out vibration surveys using the Smart Meter 1750 system. Also taking the lead role in planning and supervising during major process plant shutdown etc. Ordering of spare parts to ensure minimum downtime and equipment efficiency.
