As a lead software engineer of the Dynamic Content organization at HERE, I worked as a leader of an agile team in creating the HERE Hazard Warnings product. My responsibilities include:• Leading agile ceremonies, product decisions, architecture and design discussions, and team task coordination.• Product development including every aspect from inception, requirements definition, architecture, design, implementation, testing, deploying, monitoring, documentation, and support.My experience and accomplishments include:• Working as a team to create the HERE Hazard Warnings product from inception.• Creating distributed cloud processing components of the product using Apache Storm, Kafka, AWS/ECS/EC2, and Docker.• Migration of components to the HERE Open Location Platform using Apach Flink.• Success in HERE Hazard Warnings product development with several customers.

As a member of the Automotive organization at HERE, I worked on automotive cloud services supporting highly automated driving solutions such as the HERE Live Roads Layer for the HERE HD Live Map.In addition to the responsibilities listed below at HERE as a Software Engineer, as a Senior Software Engineer my responsibilities included:• Utilizing skills and experience with various technologies in the domain of distributed computing for delivering predictable and iterative software.• Leading design discussions with the team.• Interviewing applicants.My experience and accomplishments included:• Designed and developed a spatial event clustering module used in a distributed system.• Experience with Kafka and integrating Kafka with Storm.• Designed and developed a storm DRPC topology for processing and aggregating product statistics.

As a member of the Automotive organization at HERE, I worked on automotive cloud services supporting highly automated driving solutions such as the HERE Live Roads Layer for the HERE HD Live Map.My responsibilities included:• Designed and developed components of a scalable, distributed, real-time processing system for processing traffic data for Live Roads Layer.• Developed products and services for various automotive use cases and customers.My experience and accomplishments included:• Developed components using various technologies such as: a job scheduling module using Quartz-Scheduler, Puppet modules, Apache Storm topology components, Spring configuration and dependency injection, and Nagios monitors.• Experience with using Java 1.8 streams and lambdas.• Developed automated tests using BDD frameworks.• Experience with deploying various AWS services and developing software to use AWS services.• Developed software: with continuous integration workflows and tools, that followed best practices, that is unit tested and functionally tested, that is verified by static code analysis, and that was peer reviewed.

Microsoft acquired Nokia in April 2014. I remained with the Xpress Internet Services group.The Xpress Internet Services group of the Mobile Phones & Services organization of Nokia is responsible for creating client and server software to provide Nokia phone users with improved data services, accelerated browsing, and web apps.My responsibilities remained the same as below with the exception of one addition: • Integrating Microsoft services into the existing Xpress™ brand proxy web browser.My experiences and accomplishments included: • Developing modular HTML/JavaScript WebApp content for the Xpress™ start page which used the Bing search API.

After I graduated from DeVry University in 2009, I was hired full-time as a software engineer at Novarra Inc. Novarra was a software company which created products and services for mobile network operators which adapted and compressed web content in order to provide web browser experiences for mobile device users.My responsibilities included: • Performing design, development, testing, documentation, and analysis of mobile phone browser products. • Meeting product requirements and deadlines. My experiences and accomplishments included: • Developing features and enhancements for the Vision™ branded proxy web browser which contributed to the successful delivery to Verizon using the BREW SDK, a C++ codebase, and Visual Studio.

While attending DeVry University, I worked part-time at Novarra Inc. as a quality assurance tester and developer intern. Novarra is a software company which created products and services for mobile network operators which adapted and compressed web content in order to provide web browser experiences for mobile device users.My responsibilities included: • Manual system testing and performance testing mobile phone services and software. • Interning as a developer which focused on fixing defects and existing product maintenance.My experiences and accomplishments included: • Developing defect fixes for nWeb™ and easyedge™ brand products which contributed to the successful delivery to U.S. Cellular using the BREW SDK, a C++ codebase, and Visual Studio. • Developing a Ruby on Rails test management system with a team of interns. The system featured over 40 tables in a relational MySQL database, over 40 models and controllers, and hundreds of views. The project was successfully completed and used by the Quality Assurance Department. • Learning to use tcpdump and Wireshark for diagnosing network and server issues.

While attending DeVry University, I worked part-time at DeVry University as a tutor and faculty assistant. My responsibilities included: • Tutoring students in computer science subjects in the Academic Success Center. • Tutoring students in the classroom for algebra courses. • Assisting faculty in grading lab assignments and exams.My experiences and accomplishments included: • Training for and receiving the tutor training certification from the College Reading and Learning Association.
