Offshore focal point on all matters relating the mechanical integrity of the asset. Responsible for the planning, scheduling and execution/supervision of all mechanical inspection and NDT work scopes as dictated by written schemes and execution plans. Ensure a holistic view is taken while inspecting as per workbook to ensure any obvious integrity concerns within close proximity of the items being inspected are recorded and reported as appropriate. Active member of the overall planning exercise offshore with emphasis on inspection programmes and manpower rotas, including the activities of sub-contractor, liaise with the Senior Engineer or Project Engineer assigned to the Asset and feedback working experiences so that continuous optimisation is achieved in the work programmes. Ensure efficient management of offshore resources, supervision of NDT work scopes, ensuring the effective and timely enactment of RBI inspection plans and defined scopes of work. Identify and obtains approval for all offshore initiated ad-hoc inspection activities as required. Organisation of activities in such a way that continuous emphasis is placed on the most efficient use of time and resources whilst ensuring safety and asset integrity is maintained and minimum disruption is caused to asset processes. Organise availability of plant and equipment which is planned to be inspected, executes/supervises inspections and co-ordinate logistics from offshore. Production of reports post inspections to ensure all areas of concern are recorded as soon as possible. Review activities and reports produced as well as general progress reporting on a daily basis.Report technical anomalies in accordance with procedures. Verification of anomalies include cross checking the anomaly itself as well as obtaining background information from the Senior Engineer.

Performing NDT requirements for the asset as set out in the WSE. Providing quality reports directly for the client on a day to day basis. Identifying and monitoring corrosion devices and general up keep of the assets integrity management.

Performing in-service visual and NDT inspection of fixed equipment and piping systems on a large ageing Oil Refinery. Identifiying and monitoring in-service damage mechanisms using my knowledge of various NDT techniques in conjunction with my extensive rope access experience. Providing detailed and coherent inspection reports as well as being responsible for their validity. Working in high risk areas such as H2S, HFA, nitrogen and caustic acid plants. Supervising experienced teams of technicians, as well as working on numerous shutdowns in areas such as Cat Cracker/ HFA and High Pressure Boilers

In this job role my duties included; industrial painting and preparation, such as blasting needle gunning and disking all from height following Irata guidelines. Working as part of a team to meet deadlines and handover commitments. As well as gaining valuable experience of the off shore industry.
