Following various reorganisations it is sponsored by telent plc, and continued to provide accruing DB pensions for telent employees until recently - it is now a closed scheme. The trustee company is Stanhope Pension Trustee, on which I represent Bridge Trustees Ltd as Chairman of the scheme.

After working mainly in the Investment and Marketing fields with Scottish life, I was appointed Group Chief Executive in January 1999. After intensive corporate activity, the business was sold to Royal London in July 2001 - staying within the mutual sector. I became a Director of Royal LOndon, retaining responsibility for Scottish Life businesses and building up Bright Gray (a new protection business). Subsequently, I also took on governance responsibilities for the group (Compliance, Risk and Internal Audit) before reiring in March 2007.
