I am Chief Executive of Duffus Community Foundation (DCF), working to make a positive difference to the lives of children & young people. I am also a Committee Member of Connecting Croydon, supporting local charities & businesses through local networking events.My journey so far includes being a qualified Youth Worker with over 25 years experience of working with children and young people. I have worked in both youth and education settings, as well as within local council services across London. I have over 12 years experience working for Sutton Youth Justice Service (YOT) managing the Prevention Service, and coordinating funded projects. During this time I was chosen as Sutton Council's Employee of the Year, in 2017. I host a weekly Podcast and I have a background in music as a DJ and Producer. As a people person, I consistently work to improve the opportunities and circumstances of others. I am an effective communicator who can lead and motivate others in practice and attitude. I am reliable, dedicated and enthusiastic and I like to lead by example.

I have developed the programme of support on offer for the Foundation which includes workshops, 121 sessions and recreational activities, in order to make a positive difference to young people’s lives. I am working to increase partnerships with other organisations and coordinate funding and project delivery across several London boroughs. As I have worked at every level of youth work from a volunteer, sessional youth worker, youth worker in charge and as lead coordinator and manager, I have an authentic understanding of each role and so can relate to, and support, all staff in our team.I am an effective communicator and always strive to adapt my approach to suit the individual, rather than the other way round. I would consider myself a ‘motivator’, bringing energy to the role to inspire others to do their best and embody the DCF ethos.

Acting Ceo/Strategic CoordinatorDuffus Community Foundation Oct 2018 - Dec 2022I started this role as Strategic Coordinator and then progressed to Acting CEO. In these roles, I was responsible for overseeing the day to day and strategic operations for the charity. This included developing the Business Plan, Fundraising and Marketing Strategies and coordinating delivery of these items, ensuring they are on the agenda for both staff and the Board of Trustees. This also included considering sustainability options as well as grant applications and ensuring contract requirements related to these were met. Having been involved with the charity from inception (as a volunteer, youth-work lead, Trustee and Acting CEO), I have a deep understanding of the ethos of the organisation and its aims and values. I worked to re-brand the identity of the charity including developing a new logo and redefining our Theory of Change to ensure we meet the needs of our local community.
