Brian brings more than 15 years of tax technology and international tax experience to his clients. His work focuses on projects related to SAP and ERP implementations, including withholding tax requirement documentation, procedures, and bespoke code creation to address specific country needs. He has advised on the taxation of U.S. inbound and outbound transactions, international financing structures, multinational reorganizations, multinational acquisitions, multinational joint-ventures, withholding, reporting and compliance for ESG, FATCA, Chapter 3, FIRPTA, FBAR, AML/KYC and CRS.Brian has advised multi-national financial and non-financial organizations on systemic and procedural changes required under international law, providing guidance on ESG reporting, cross-border payments, treaty benefits, income tax, fixed-assets and automation of withholding processes, basis calculations, and transfer pricing through ERP systems. Brian acts as a project lead and subject matter expert for SAP S/4HANA implementations, working with corporate tax, finance, vendor onboarding, IT, master data, supply chain, sales, engineering, AP, AR and ESG departments to define their current requirements and opportunities for improvement for ESG reporting, income tax, fixed assets and withholding tax. Coordinates EY global member firms to understand local country laws and regulatory requirements. Explains these requirements and opportunities for improvement to system engineers to define the design of ERP systems. Works with system engineers and corporate tax and finance departments to test and validate the functionality of systems before launch. Designs and implements custom solutions around withholding tax and environmental taxes and incentives. In addition to his client facing work, Brian identified skills expectations and developed a skills tracking program for that tax technology practice and learnings to address skills gaps identified. He has composed and presented training materials on tax technology, environmental taxes and incentives, international tax and global withholding tax.
