My favorite part of the job is the ability to solve unique problems that come up from day to day as well as the opportunity to engineer solutions to longer term issues such as improving efficiency of manufacturing. My responsibilities included managing schedules, procurement, and document control. A significant part of the job included verifying that proposed materials satisfy the requirements of the project. Finally, I gained experience working in the document control software Procore which is involved keeping company data bases up to date for projects.

As a mechanical engineering intern on the site my responsibilities included filling out eco's, documentation of engineering solutions for a new crane system for the plant, and using an FEA model to recommend a solution to some vibration issues a facility cooling fan was experiencing.
