“When you feel the need to speed up, slow down.” This is the best advice I’ve been given, and I can’t count how many times it’s saved me from making a mistake. When I’m feeling rushed to do something this quote comes to mind and reminds me to slow down and do it right. I have 1,300+ hours of training and experience in this industry. I also have much more experience working with my hands doing a wide range of things such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, construction, irrigation, and landscaping. All of these skills have built on each other and made me more skilled and more useful for every company I’ve worked for.At NLC I was among the top of my class academically which allowed me to lead a study group as part of a peer-to-peer program. Anytime I or anyone in my study group had a difficult time understanding a concept, we would study and research for hours or even days until we all got it down.
