Shift Technical Advisor Section Leader
CurrentSTA Section Leader – Lead a team of sixteen licensed and non licensed STA’s. As leader, responsible for a 3 million dollar budget, scheduling for three units, twelve hour shift rotation and performance management of the group. Developed long term Staffing and Training plan for the STA’s.Other responsibilities include program ownership for reactivity management (Chairman RMT), degraded/nonconforming conditions, operability determinations/functional assessments and initial and continuing STA training (TAC Chairman). Also oversee corrective actions and self assessments of these programs. Perform observations providing critical feedback to the STA’s and Shift Managers. Shift Technical Advisor - Advises the Shift Manager in areas of thermal hydraulics, reactor engineering and plant analysis with regard to the safe operation of the power plant. Perform independent diagnosis of off normal events or accident conditions and advises the Shift Manager on mitigation strategies. Perform independent assessment of safety functions to ensure accident mitigation is proceeding correctly. Independently assesses emergency plan classifications and coordinates with the Shift Manager to ensure the Emergency Plan is being implemented effectively. Perform online risk evaluations for emergent conditions. Implement the outage shutdown risk assessment. Review corrective action identification documents for operational impacts and event reporting. Perform operability determinations and functional assessments in response to degraded and nonconforming conditions. Incorporate relevant Operating Experience into the shift meetings.Independent Safety Engineer Nuclear Assurance Engineer
