Engr. Joseph Thlama Dawha is the Group Managing Director Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Production of NNPC. He is responsible for repositioning and setting strategic direction of the Upstream, Midstream and downstream Exploration and Production activities of the Corporation and its partners. He joined Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in 1988 as the General Manager, PSC/FES, National Petroleum Investment Management Systems, NAPIMS and later moved to become the General Manager, Projects, Engineering and Technical Division, ETD in 2007. He became the Executive Director of Operations in Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (a subsidiary of NNPC) in 2008, a position he occupied until 2010 when he was appointed the Managing Director of the Company (NPDC).He started his amazing career as a wellsite Petroleum Engineer with SPDC of Nigeria in 1987. Subsequently, he joined Baroid Nigeria Limited in 1990 where he rose to the position of Senior Sales Representative. Mr Membere joined ExxonMobil in 1993 and excelled at different positions like Senior Reservoir Engineer, Team Lead for East Area (Ubit) and Oso Areas, Technical Lead ExxonMobil merger and Supervisor Development Planning. He proceeded on development work assignment to Mobil North Sea in 2000 where he held positions like Team Lead Beryl Alpha and Bravo, Southern North Sea (Gas) etc. he returned to ExxonMobil Nigeria as Gas Production Advisor responsible for Gas Master Plan, LNG/IPP and Gas Flare Elimination Projects. In the course of his exciting career he has won several awards like; Emerging Leader ExxonMobil (1997), Safety Award, Mobil North Sea (2002). He was the SPE Nigerian Council Chairman in 2008, a member of Nigerian Society of Engineers, COREn registered and a member of the Advisory Board of Nelson Mandela African University of Science and Technology (AUST). He holds a Masters degree in Reservoir Engineering.
