I am the managing director and owner of Redfinch Software Limited. We provide software consultancy to small to medium companies. These systems mainly evolve specification and design of ASP.NET, Access, Excel and outlook solutions linked to SQL server databases.

My main responsibility in the exchange is to develop Microsoft software solutions mainly in Access and Excel across all the exchanges business areas. These systems required strong VBA skills and also pass-through queries to a large Sybase databases containing the daily trades traded on the stock exchange.For most projects I was involved in the complete project lifecycle which generally required gathering requirements, producing business requirements, functional specifications and technical documentation. The exchange also had strict guidelines for code promotion and testing which have to be followed at all times. I was also involved in the major task of converting over 1000 of the exchanges Access databases from Access 97 to 2000. As well as development I was responsible for providing second line support for users across the Microsoft product range.

I was involved in specification, design and development of major Access and Excel reporting systems for corporate organisations. These systems require strong VBA skills and also pass-through queries to a large Oracle Database. My role involves the complete project lifecycle from design, specification and build through to user training.I supported the helpdesk to help fix data issues on customer sites using SQL and Access to achieve my objective. I also managed the day to day running of the department and staff.

In May 2000 Public Sector Software purchased TAI Consulting Ltd. I undertook projects for both companies. Consultant with responsibilities for:I was involved in specification, design and development of major Access and Excel systems for public sector and corporate organisations. These projects required extensive use of the VBA programming language. Many have utilised Microsoft SQL server 6.5 as the backed database. I was also been involved in upsizing Access applications to Microsoft SQL Server. My other responsibilities included supervising a trainee consultant and developing his career within the organisation. In addition to the responsibilities outlined above I was continuing to perform the duties outlined in my previous job specification for Public Sector Software outlined bellow.

The complete development of a three-phase DataEase application to Manage Pan-European rates for the pricing of vehicle hire in all of the currencies of the world. The application was designed to work over a WAN for utilisation by the pricing and sales departments. It also interfaces with mainframe applications to analyse sales and also distribute rates all around the world. Consultation with users to determine their requirements, explanation of the system and subsequent training of the pricing department's analysts and accountants. Clear and concise communication of all functions was essential. I was also responsible for the specification for the purchase of hardware and software. I was also involved in the enhancements and new developments of there in house Microsoft Access databases.

Development, support, installation and training of Access & DataEase applications (all versions) plus the installation of networks, hardware and software for large corporations and public sector organisations. Customers have included BP, Mobil Oil, Ford Motor Company, Government Office, DfEE, The Court Service, Metropolitan Police and the British Museum. Some of these systems were designed to interface with mainframe systems and other products. Development time of these projects typically spanned from a single day to a year. Installation and support of all internal systems, network installation, maintenance and testing of all new software.
