-The senior tactical air control party (TACP) member attached to a ground unit who functions as the primary advisor to the ground commander on the integration and employment of aviation. -Principally responsible to the commander for the training management and currency of unit forward air controllers (FACs), joint terminal attack controllers (JTACs), joint fires observers (JFOs), and TACP radio operators (ROs).-Naval aviator who, from a forward position, directs the action of combat aircraft engaged in close air support and other offensive air operations.-Integrates all functions of aviation during the planning and execution of ground operations, and conducts required liaison with aviation units.

Supervised, trained, and mentored 31 Marines responsible for plane captain duties and maintenance on the engines, fuel systems, and secondary power systems of 10 F/A-18 Hornets.

Responsible for overseeing all ground safety programs, to include industrial hygiene, operational risk management, electrical safety, proper protective equipment, and respiratory health.

Responsible for proper implementation of the Naval Aviation Training and Operating Procedures Srandardization (NATOPS) program. Duties included providing training on aircraft systems and operating procedures, managing aircrew flight currency, managing instrument rating and NATOPS qualification checks, and tracking aircrew qualifications and designations.
