Lead and coordinate the purchase and delivery of Bladed Commodity parts (Power Turbine, Expander, Axial Compressor) maximizing savings and value for Dresser-Rand and affiliates.Travel as required to supplier locations to establish working partnership and good relations with suppliers.Coordinate with suppliers to meet customer technical requirements and the requirements of the shop floor and ensures these requirements are clearly defined and communicated.Support project management efforts during the proposal and order process stages.Interact with business unit and cost center personnel to affect the timely release of technical engineering data and subsequent technical engineering changes.Proactively prevent and manage supplier defects with vendors.Mentor lower level buyers.

-Demonstrate leadership qualities by facilitating team meetings globally to support supply chain operations and commodity management teams. -Responsible for collecting reporting scorecard data, savings, spend, quality, on-time delivery Etc.-Communicate with Head Buyers, Engineering, Quality and Project Management, that foster cross-functional teamwork on specific projects targeting cost & lead-time reductions-Assist the Directors of Supply Chain Management, Global Commodity Managers, and Operational Supply Chain Management in implementation of standard work practices when locating new suppliers and adding them into the system-Being familiar with and demonstrate current knowledge of market conditions of commodities and apply that data appropriately to assist with negotiations with suppliers that will lead to long term agreements
