Serve as one of thirty commissioners who develop policies and examinations for the accredited certification of employees involved in crane work nationwide. NCCCO is the nation’s largest accredited certifying body in cranes, rigging, lift direction, and inspection, accounting for approximately 85% of all nationally accredited certifications. Member of the NCCCO Foundation CTAG (Crane Type Advisory Group).

Manage all aspects of compliance statewide for the cranes, maritime, high voltage, telecommunications and logging industries. Manage staff, develop policies and procedures, interact with internal and external stakeholders throughout the state, contribute to rule writing, and present on various topics affecting industries and employee safety. Review and help develop and finalize major inspections. Assist, advise and present to other states and countries in areas of high hazard safety compliance, particularly cranes. Serve as subject matter expert for cranes. Initiate, develop and manage DOSH sUAS program.

State Of Washington

Develop, update and interpret DOSH safety standards pertaining to cranes and rigging in construction, general industry and maritime. Conduct training, provide policy direction and technical guidance for DOSH staff and stakeholders throughout Washington state. Supervise Washington crane certification program including the 70+ accredited Washington State Certifiers. Supervise the audit program for Washington state crane certifiers. Serve as Washington’s expert witness for cranes and rigging at the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals.• Presentations/Training conducted include DOSH New Hire, OSHA 2055 construction cranes, and several presentations for major construction companies throughout the state.• Developed positive stakeholder relationships with many construction firms, Ports, Utilities, AGC of Washington and Approach Management Services. • Serve as Chairman of the Washington Maritime Crane Board. Conduct oversight on all maritime certifiers and material handling on terminals in the state.• Chair the Washington State Crane Certifiers Examination Review committee, to develop and improve the examinations for accredited crane certifier applicants.• Conduct bill analysis during legislative sessions.• Developed a reciprocity program with Canada for crane operators.• Assist DOSH consultation in areas that involve cranes.• Conducted many site visits to assist/educate companies in developing safe and compliant lift plans in complicated circumstances.• Assist the appeals program in several cases of advanced mediation, and assist the ATG office with several court cases.• Serve as chairman of the Cranes and Rigging subcommittee, and participate on the High Voltage subcommittee for the Construction Advisory Committee.
