Primary goal of day to day operations is to ensure that students and staff have full functionally of all technology that is critical for the success of student instruction. Since employed by SMCPS, responsibilities have included the implementation, support and maintenance of desktops, laptops, iPads, VOIP, PA systems, switches, routers and UPS systems within 28 school sites. Other responsibilities include help desk ticketing management, maintenance of Active Directory, password resets, software troubleshooting, software license management and inventory asset accountability.

Employed as an authorized contractor for Metrocast Communications providing commercial business services within St. Mary's County. Responsible for conducting site surveys for coaxial installations including making customer contact, drawing site details, documenting cable length, surveying for public/private and underground/aerial utilities as well as reporting estimated cost of construction. Designed, installed and maintained large scale structured data and voice wiring systems. Installed and maintained company products such as digital phone, internet and television with primary focus on phone and internet. Provided additional detailed troubleshooting on commercial equipment such as Personal Branch Exchange systems, extension based telephones, VOIP and Cisco routers to ensure correct functionality with company products.

Served as a Telecommunications Technician supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and Verizon’s main node at Fort Belvoir. Assisted in the rebuild of telecommunications, cabling and equipment to meet BICSI standards. Utilized previous knowledge to install, patch and terminate CAT 6 cable as well as fiber optic cable. Ensured functionality of all rebuilt equipment and cabling and used Fluke meter to perform tests on all cabling to ensure integrity and continuity. Performed underground telecommunications maintenance including running cables, mounting hardware, terminating trunk cables and testing of all terminations.

Employed as an authorized sub-contractor for DirecTV. Primary responsibility was to provide excellent customer service to DirecTV customers within the Southern Maryland region through the proper installation and maintenance of satellite TV systems and equipment. Coordinated schedules and planned installations with customers by evaluating location, locating access and laying out equipment and wiring plans. Verified correct functionality of all systems and assisted customers with proper use of all DirecTV equipment. Maintained equipment inventory through accurate records of all installations, services and repairs. Provided additional custom work such as wall fishes through exterior/interior housing walls, mounting flat panel televisions, installing home theater systems and home computer networks through wireless and LAN lines. Participated in many training opportunities, earning Wild Blue satellite internet certification and certification through SBCA (Satellite Broadcasting Communications Association).

Served as the Network Administrator, as well as the Help Desk Technician to the 1st Infantry Division in Schweinfurt Germany. Responsible for supervising, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and assisting users with battlefield signal support systems and terminal devices. Responsible for managing 300 local and 92 remote user accounts. Integrated signal systems and networks. Performed unit level maintenance on authorized signal equipment and associated electronic devices. Maintained Secret Security Clearance. Served 13 months in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom II performing similar duties in combat situations.
