• First chair trial counsel in U.S. v. United States Sugar Corp. merger trial – directed overall strategy for litigation and trial, presented opening statement and closing argument, examined several key adverse witnesses.• Served significant roles in two other merger trials (U.S. v. Energy Solutions; U.S. v. Sabre) –examined multiple adverse senior executives at trial and prepared an economic expert to testify.• Litigation lead for Fresh Express/Dole merger investigation resulting in abandonment in response to DOJ's concerns about competition in the packaged salads market.• Led merger investigations and served other key roles in both merger and non-merger investigations spanning industries such as airlines, airline ticket distribution, do-it-yourself tax preparation, biotechnology, agriculture and food products, oilfield services, prison communication, technology, movie and T.V. entertainment, and heavy truck cast iron manufacturing.• As part of a small team, assessed and negotiated a complex divestiture and prepared team to “litigate-the-fix” in Bayer/Monsanto merger investigation.• Received Assistant Attorney General’s Award of Distinction for work on litigation—U.S. v. ValueAct, U.S. v. Energy Solutions, U.S. v. Booz Allen, and U.S. v. U.S. Sugar Corp.—and merger investigations— Bayer/Monsanto, Tupy/Teksid.

• Defended industry-leading manufacturer in global cartel investigation involving government investigations in the United States, Canada, and Europe and multiple follow-on class action litigation—led fact development, interviewed company executives, prepared presentations to government enforcers, prepared witnesses for depositions, defended company in depositions, and drafted sections of various litigation briefs.• Defended various multi-national banks, financial services companies, and a public housing authority in litigation and at trial, including first chairing litigation and trials in state court, arguing dispositive motions in federal and state court, and taking and defending depositions.
