Taught Strength of Materials, a sophomore level engineering science course. Responsibilities included constructing course syllabus, lecturing, and evaluating students. Class sizes ranged from 30 to 40 students. Received excellent evaluations from senior faculty.

Developed an analysis of duct design for hydrokinetic turbines using MATLAB. Work included writing a computational flow code, using a ring vortex panel method combined with an optimization routine, to design a duct. The code was successfully paired with the preexisting rotor design software, OpenProp.Other research work has included supporting fellow researchers in an investigation into vortex methods for aeroelastic fluid-structure interaction of bluff bodies.

Performed analysis and redesign of process pump systems for increased reliability. Coordinated with tradesmen and contractors to create work orders for pump replacements/upgrades. Created a plant equipment reliability reporting tool, using VBA in Excel, to help engineers easily identify badly acting equipment for upgrades/redesign based on cost, type, and frequency of repairs. Developed a user interface so engineers could easily implement tool. Program was used successfully by engineers to find equipment needing redesign.
