I watched him grow as a sales representative and a leader. Brian came to my team through an acquisition of a storm door company. He had very little knowledge of the fenestration industry and had to learn on the job. Learning the window and patio door business came quickly for him, especially since he took the initiative to do much of the learning on his own. A short time later, Brian was one of the product experts on our team. For a time, I had appointed Brian to be the Regional Sales Manger for the Southeast. During the six month term, he took charge and had the responsibility of twelve sales reps looking to him to make decisions for the territories. The only reason this position was not permanent was Andersen had made another acquisition and the sales force was restructured. Brian was then selected to be the regional trainer and was charged with educating sales reps that had come to our team through Andersen’s latest acquisition. He was responsible for teaching these sales associates both product knowledge and selling skills. Brian knows what it takes to be a top performer in a world class organization. Many times Brian demonstrated his leadership abilities by finding solutions to problems without being asked. He had a knack for identifying inefficiencies and figuring out where to go to put together the team in order to reconcile these problems. The success of our organization was built on teamwork. We had to work with all departments within our company to make any change to our organization. Brian understood how to navigate the “red tape” and had built many solid contacts in these other groups. He knew what to look for, where to find it, and how to work with his contacts to be successful. Brian is a dedicated person who can work well with anyone.
