A trial lawyer for 32 years, and senior partner of the firm, Brian Harnik is an aggressive and successful advocate in civil litigation and general business law. He has tried cases in courts around the country. His practice consists of sophisticated civil litigation, land use and real estate development, entitlements and environmental issues and business transactions. He represents large and small real estate developers in all aspects of development and growth.Mr. Harnik is admitted to practice in New York, Massachusetts and California. He is also admitted to practice before various Federal Courts in California, New York,and the United States Supreme Court. He sits periodically as Judge Pro Tempore for the Riverside County Superior Court. Mr. Harnik was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He earned his degrees from the State University of New York at Binghamton (B.A. 1978) and Boston University Law School (J.D. 1981). In 1988, Mr. Harnik moved to California and became a co-founder of Roemer & Harnik in 1990. Mr. Harnik was an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn from 1981 through 1988. He was a senior trial attorney in the County’s Homicide Bureau, where he tried numerous murder and manslaughter cases. He was also a trial supervisor in the Sex Crimes Bureau and trial attorney for the Major Offense Prosecution Program. In 1988 he relocated to California, and in 1990, he formed Roemer & Harnik which specializes in a wide variety of civil matters. Mr. Harnik is a co-founder of CV Strategies, Inc., a strategic communications and public relations firm serving the Coachella Valley and Inland Empire. Mr. Harnik and his wife Jan are very active in education and community activities. Jan is Mayor of the City of Palm Desert.. Brian volunteers as legal counsel to The Living Desert.
