RPT Realty owned and operated a national portfolio of open-air shopping destinations in top U.S. markets. The Company was a fully integrated and self-administered REIT publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the RPT ticker. New management was brought into the company in June 2018 to institutionalize and reposition the organization. During the five-year tenure, RPT achieved the largest multiple expansion in the sector and completed more than $2 billion in investment activities before being acquired by Kimco Realty (NYSE: KIM) in January 2024.

Brian L. Harper held the role of Chief Executive Officer of Rouse Properties from May 2016 until June 2018.Rouse had a portfolio that consisted of 26 million square feet of shopping centers across 22 states in the U.S.Mr. Harper was one of the original “key” members of the team that was instrumental to the formation of the company and the initial public offering which took place in January, 2012.Prior to serving as CEO, he held the positions of Chief Operating Officer as well as the Executive Vice President of Leasing and Acquisitions.Prior to Rouse, Mr. Harper was previously the Senior Vice President of Leasing for GGP, where he was employed for five years.While employed by GGP, he oversaw the leasing efforts of a $2.0 billion multi-state portfolio.Prior to joining GGP, he was a Vice President at RED Development and an Associate at Cohen-Esrey Real Estate Services, LLC. Mr. Harper has been involved with all facets of real estate from new development, asset repositions, distressed real estate and stabilized asset management.Throughout his career, Mr. Harper won several awards, including Chain Store Age’s 10 Under 40 in Real Estate. He has served as a panelist for a number of industry conferences and is a frequent guest lecturer to several leading universities. Overall, Mr. Harper has over 18 years of experience in the real estate industry. Mr. Harper holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas.
