Served throughout the UK in various category Prisons. In 1990 I served at HMP Parkhurston the Isle of Wight and worked extensively with long term high risk Prisoners. I wastrained in Control & Restraint techniques and use of force and continued to be trained inthis area on a yearly basis. I trained to become a Hostage Negotiator and was entered ona list as a National resource. I transferred to HMYOI Hindley in Wigan in 1992 and worked with sentenced and remandprisoners up to the age of 21. I became part of the Hostage Negotiator Northwest Trainingteam in 1995 and was involved in several live situations. I continued to work as a PrisonService Trainer in Security, Communication / Interpersonal Skills and People Awareness. Iwas promoted to Senior Officer in 2000 and took charge of complete units of up to 96Prisoners and up to 24 staff. I continued to work within this role until I left in 2012.

Worked for a long distance Haulage company in Widnes, Cheshire driving HGV class 1 allover the UK.

Served with the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards. I completed operational tours in West BelfastN.I, based at Fort Whiterock and in Belize Central America, based at Salamanca camp on theGuatemala border. In both cases I was working in small teams and using inter-personalskills to develop relations and gather intelligence. I also served in Germany, London,Canada, Cyprus and was attached to an affiliated Navy Warship HMS Andromeda whilst on touraround the Middle East. I was promoted to Lance Corporal and served in the Mortar PlatoonSupport Company and No1 Company the Prince of Wales.
