Responsibilities:• Project management: project planning, scheduling and costing.• Managing technical employees and ensuring the successful delivery of multiple projects simultaneously in-line with project briefs.• Coordination of technical meetings with respect to projects.• Responsible for daily planning of the technical office employees.• Design & development of new products, which includes design calculations• Basic Finite Element Analysis, using Autodesk Inventor, to optimize the design of mechanical components. • Implementing design and engineering changes to drawings.• Checking and providing final approval of drawings.• Managing of CAD draughting methods and systems.• Maintaining product and design documentation.• Reverse engineering: Includes the use of conventional measuring equipment (Verniers, micrometers etc.) as well as a portable CMM.• Responsible for product flameproof certification in accordance with IEC60079-0 & IEC60079-1• Responsible for generating admin and procurement documentation: drawing lists, parts lists, requisitions, purchase orders.• Responsible for generating QC documentation, inspection sheets and various other documentation.• Responsible for all punch shop tooling requirements such as purchasing of new notching and punching tools and refurbishing of existing tooling.
