CurrentI am a partner and Global Co-Chair of the Agribusiness, Food and Beverage Industry Group at K&L Gates, a global law firm with 44 offices across 5 continents. I have more than 25 years' experience servicing clients in agribusiness and primary industries including in agricultural property transactions, water transactions, and leading teams in mergers and acquisitions. Focusing primarily on agricultural property, water rights and investment in agribusiness, has allowed me to advise on some of Australia's most prominent rural transactions including, in 2014, completing what was reported as the largest farmland transaction in the world that year.On a day to day level, I assist local and international agribusinesses, primary producers and investors across their range of legal needs. A key part of my practice is assisting inbound investors and local producers enter into and execute joint venture arrangements, agricultural land and water purchases and sales, sale and leaseback transactions and mergers and acquisitions. My focus is assisting inbound investors and domestic producers and agribusinesses with legal requirements to realise the opportunities available in Australian agriculture. I am listed as a Preeminent and Leading Agribusiness Lawyer in Doyle's Guide (2016-2024) and I am recognised as one of Australia’s leading Agriculture & Rural Affairs lawyers in the 2017-2024 editions of Best Lawyers. Other roles I perform include Chair of the Australia China Business Council (Qld) Food & Agribusiness Industry Group Working Committee and Chair of the Queensland Law Society Agribusiness and Water Law Committee.
