I absolutely love making and designing things—don't get me wrong. However, something that I've realized is that being an engineer is much more than just having an affinity for designing and creating. Sure, it's the heart of the profession: defining problems, brainstorming ideas, detailing a design, manufacturing, and testing. But all of these attributes can be raised to the next level just by working together with other engineers. At Casas por Cristo, I saw the incredible value in working together to solve problems with others. When a problem arises in a project, having a team (of even just 1-2 other people) to brainstorm with and share ideas is crucial. Collaborating with others brings many perspectives and innovative solutions to the table, making it easier to find effective fixes and keep the project on track. As I further my education and career, I look forward to working with other engineers in order to find and solve problems in a more efficient manner. For this exact reason, I'm currently looking for an engineering internship for the summer of 2025 to get industry experience!
