My responsibilities include maintaining the building and related equipment, directing a team of engineers and helping out in other departments as needed.During the pandemic, my colleagues and I were willing to do whatever it took in order to keep the hotel running. I have worked the front desk, as well as the Bistro in my building, which was outside of my comfort zone. Everyday, a new challenge arises and I overcome them and add new skills to my toolbox.

As a Lead Building Engineer, it was my responsibility to maintain the tools and materials in stock, teach the other engineers new skills and how to use various tools to troubleshoot and diagnose issues. Teach customer service and the Marriott way of doing things.Communication between my department and the rest of the hotel was my responsibility. Much of what I learned about my building was self taught due to the abrupt nature in which the previous Chief Engineer left the company.
