In this dual role, I am responsible for global intellectual property for the entire organization (both innovative and generics) with concurrent responsibility for North American legal operations. For global IP, my team and I develop and execute patent strategies for innovative small molecule, specialty, and biologics programs as well as for generics. As Legal Head (general counsel) North America, my team and I provide comprehensive guidance on all legal and compliance issues, from assistance with commercial transaction, M&A, and licensing, to litigation management, employment law advice, and antitrust counseling.In both roles, I coach my team members on the best ways to present our positions internally, to courts, and to adversaries, and mentor them in establishing and supporting professional development plans to position them for future career growth.
