Scopes of work:Summer 2010:- Worked under professor Luc Chouinard.- Performed ambient noise measurements about the Montreal and Repentigny areas.- Inversion and analysis of these readings was completed to understand the sub-soil and create a map of fundamental soil frequencies about the Montreal and Repentigny areas.- Purpose: To estimate damage and evacuation plans of buildings in or around Montreal.- Software used: MapInfo, GRILLA, Microsoft Office Suite.Summer 2011 to February 2012: - Worked under professor Denis Mitchell. - Aided Masters' students in their thesis research.- Constructed 3 slabs and 6 deep beams; from cutting and bending the reinforcing steel bars to pouring the concrete. - Testing of the two-way slabs to failure. - Purpose: To analyze the effect of delamination on punching failure in two-way slab systems (explicitly parking garages) and to examine the differences between the ACI-318 and CSA A23.3 concrete design codes (explicitly spacing requirements of reinforcing steel bar stirrups and skin reinforcement).
