Institute for Strategic Economics - vehicle for pro bono and not-for-profit services with civil society organizations and governments. My preferred method of assisting is through facilitating Futures Search Conferences. (I trained in a cohort developed in Ottawa by Weisbord and Janoff in 1996. My first facilitated conferences were for Christ Church Anglican, Ashton ( 1997) and Ottawa Arts Court. The Arts Court Conference group created as a goal and focused on the new multi-purpose facility now in operation for some years. Other Future Search Conferences in which I have participated in various team positions: Canada's Department of National Defence (Military HR Group -as a private consultant); Treasury Board of Canada (Pensions and Benefits - as an employee); Agriculture and Food Canada (mentoring the development of a colleague who served his first solo as senior facilitator). My first experience of the Future Search Conference methodology was in Toronto at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Anglican (Eaton Centre). This in the early 1970s. This conference led to the preservation of the church, one of the oldest in Toronto (1848) and empowered the congregation in causing the developer to upgrade the architecture of the Toronto Eaton Centre. During the interval this church was saved from the wreckers ball, I served as CFO in my capacity of one of the three legal trustees of the parish (a "church Warden). At Yale, unusual at that time (1966-1969), and still so in most business schools, I received experiential training in the "T" Group methodology from Chris Argyris.Brian Hull & Associates - Strategic Economics - through which I provide professional, fee for service facilitation to business, government and civil society groups.
