Paws in Prison is a unique program where animals are taken from shelters and placed into prisons for training to make them a more adoptable pet. Dogs spend 8 to 10 weeks in the prison with inmate trainers that are guided by civilian Professional Dog Trainers. I track dogs that are in the prisons, purchase supplies, ship supplies to units that have dogs, communicate with Shelter and Organization caseworkers, update reports, request website updates, participate in Paws activities, and more. This time frame included 18 months as a Training Instructor (Lieutenant) at the Arkansas Department of Correction Training Academy, 24 months as an IT/eOMIS Support Technician, and the rest of the time back at the Academy as the Training Supervisor (Captain). I completed research, developed, implemented, evaluated and updated courseware for in-service personnel and Basic Training Cadets. Coordinated, scheduled, and planned the Basic Training requirements throughout the year. Organize files (electronic and hard copy) for ACA requirements as well as supervise a staff of 5. Monthly reports, year end reports, problem solve, etc. I am a Certified Law Enforcement Instructor, with Certificate issued on 15 July 2011, by the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training.

Worked as an instructor teaching detection equipment to first responders. I ended up as Team Lead for the Mass Decon Team in Jan 04. As of Jan 07, I became involved in outreach research, contacting agencies around the nation that could use our services.
