About Brian Mcconnell

I founded Hydrock in 1995 grew the company into a multi-disciplinary engineering, energy and sustainability consultancy employing over 950 people. We created a company with a strong ethos and a focus on our people, our clients, on technical excellence and on an entrepreneurial approach to developing our business. We frequently appeared in the 100 Best Companies to Work For list and in 2023 we were awarded Engineering Consultant of the Year at the Building Awards.In May 2024 Hydrock was acquired by Stantec, I believe a good home for the company and it's people. This coincided with my retirement from Hydrock. It was a great journey over nearly 29 years. I was privileged to work on some great projects with some fantastic people. Now on to other things....
