I have worked in the drinks/hospitality industry for over 30 years, the last 13 of which have been specialising in whisky/spirits retailing, with the previous 10 years working in bars, wines/spirits retailing and managerial positions. During this time I have acted as trainer/mentor for employees new to the drinks industry, and have been involved in writing tasting notes, product descriptions and photography for use with web-based retail.I hold the Wine & Sprite Education Trust award up to level 3 covering both wines and spirits, I have a detailed understanding of the drinks industry, both in terms of retail/customer facing roles, and have acted as an ambassador for specific products and brands at wine/spirit trade shows as well as conducting tasting events.I have a great interest in the history, culture and production of distilled drinks and very much enjoy sharing this interest and passion with customers and work colleagues alike.
