“Hey new guy, the robots are down. You went to training last week, you’ve got 45 minutes to fix’em before I shutdown the customer” - and that is how I was introduced to Just in Time automotive manufacturing over 20 years ago. My first role was as a controls engineer in a JIT seating plant. I worked my way up from that time through many roles to become the Global Director of Advanced Manufacturing.During that journey I successfully led many initiatives including- Launches of new products and processes- Automation of core processes- Regional and Global standardization- Design for manufacturing best practices- Assembly and equipment standards- Best cost country purchasing of assembly equipment- Benchmarking and best practices- Industry 4.0 - development of global MESAs I have traveled this path, I have been sure to always keep the focus on the day in the life of the plant. Strategies and solutions need to be simple, executable and sustainable in the plant environment to be successful.My strengths are in my ability to engage and align people to a common objective. I strive to make sure my team understands the objectives, has clear assignments and has the support needed to be successful.
