In April 2022 I took up new responsibilities as CEO of Cedarmore Housing Association - https://www.cedarmorehousing.org.uk/ . Following a career of two halves - one half in the pragmatic arena of human resources with M&S and the other in HR and Operations Management in the social care sector with charitiesThis new role combines all experience to date with the joy of serving and supporting people in my home town whilst developing a strategic direction for CHA together with the dedicated voluntary Management Committee and people across CHA.Over many years I have used my workplace experience in a voluntary capacity as a School Governor, College Governor and Trustee of various charities. Each of these organisations serves and supports vulnerable people of all ages as I have a passion for advocacy and speaking up for people who may not be able to represent themselves. I am currently the chairman of Advocacy for All - https://www.advocacyforall.org.uk/ with whom I have been linked for over 10 years. I have served on the local council scrutiny committee for 10+ years representing children with Special Needs and Adults with Learning Difficulties.Together with family I have been supporting children and adults with learning difficulties through respite, fostering and adoption support as we all feel that creating a positive family experience and attachments are key to a person achieving their potential. Disability enables the celebration and development of ability in the family and no challenge seems too great.A new challenge is a joy and I look forward to all that it brings.
