Web Intern
Technically, I was only there for four months: three months in the summer, and one month during winter break. Neuco was overhauling their intranet, and I was mostly tasked with integrating functionality from the old intranet to the new one. Additionally, I was given a large project where I worked with my boss to create a spotlight building tool. This tool was designed for the marketing division so they could easily create small webpages that advertise various products without requiring them to have programming knowledge. I enjoyed working with the marketing division to make the tool suit their needs while brainstorming cool ideas with them for additional functionality every step of the way. Whenever I was stuck on something to the point where I didn't even know what to search on Google, I was able to count on my boss to point me in the right direction without giving me direct answers, allowing me to figure out the solution on my own and learn something new; that is the best kind of mentoring I could possibly ask for. I utilized the PhP framework Laravel, jQuery, Javascript, CSS, HTML, and mySQL (I think, I'm not 100% sure if it was mySQL). I also used Github to coordinate my code with my boss while he gave me feedback on how to improve my work.
