I'm a technology and people leader at JPMorgan Chase & Co., a top-25 Fortune 500 company and the #1 private bank in the world. My team owns the end-to-end process for developing application solutions as they relate to content and employee experience for the company's 270,000+ employees. This means we track down problems across a number of product lines, consult with the relevant teams, determine possible solutions and, where appropriate, own the design, architecture, and development process for web-based software applications created to remediate these problems. My key accomplishments include creating custom content creation software, which allowed the bank to begin phasing out vendor products, reducing licensing fees. In addition to those direct savings, the application is tailored to current staffing needs and requirements, increasing the volume of content that can be created at cost by speeding delivery to audience, reducing friction around meeting regulatory requirements, enhancing the capabilities of current employees, eliminating or drastically cutting training time on more complicated vendor software, and putting technology problem fixes into the hands of company employees instead of reliance on outside vendors. Projected savings are in excess of $1M. A similar solution allowed JPMorgan Chase to shift away from vendor-supplied learning assessment software to in-house products. Benefits reflect those mentioned above. Other accomplishments include creating a resource library with greater efficacy and data tracking than conventional solutions (Sharepoint sites, Confluence workspaces), patching Oracle's learning content management system where there was friction with the firm's regulatory and performance needs, providing solutions to onboarding and turnover issues, and serving in a key capacity during the firm's transition into a product organization. As a leader, I'm particularly pleased to have managed experienced full-stack developers and younger employees still getting their coding feet under them. I moved from a role as a front-end programming lead when asked to help coordinate the work of the team and to communicate project goals and accomplishments to the broader leadership. My current position permits me to set strategy, budget resources and drive impact and value for the organization.
