Strategy and development of company-wide sales for Emery Sapp and Sons, Inc. Building lasting alliances with past, current and future clients of ESS. Leveraging relationships, forging partnerships and collaboratively working with internal and external allies to engineer Value for ESS and the entities with whom we work.Develop the marketing and business development plan in a new (less than 10 years) market territory for ESS. Increase brand awareness, align with appropriate advocacy groups, focus heavily on knowing the owner and key influencers in the area. Pioneer the heavy civil design-build, municipal market in Kansas City though partnership and engagement with the Design-Build Institute of America. Public and private client focus with significant investment into having the pulse on major projects spanning the 15 county metropolitan area of Kansas City.

Responsible for managing all aspects of construction for a $20M custom home building firm. Managed up to 30 projects simultaneously over a 60 mile radius. Duties included client management, subcontractor management, material procurement, scheduling and quality control. Individual projects range in size of $180K to $500K.

Project Manager focused on both public and private infrastructure improvement projects. Focus on the client was paramount. Transparent communication and collaboration with both owner and consulting firms. Skill sets used included collaborating with partner design firms, managing self-perform crews for grading, underground utilities, paving and bridge crews. Coordination and buy-out of subcontracts, specialty trades and supply-chain management. Construction knowledge in land development, heavy highway and aviation; mass grading, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, waterline and concrete paving. Clients spanning FAA, DOT, School Districts, Municipalities, General Contractors and Private Developers.

Estimator focusing on pricing heavy civil and site infrastructure construction activities. Projects ranged in size from $500K to $10M and spanned clients in both the public and private sectors. Estimate and takeoff for self-perform work items including grading, underground utilities, structures, stabilization and concrete paving as well as coordinating with subcontractors on items such as electrical, asphalt, signage, traffic control and erosion control.

Assisted in the coordination of construction projects totaling over $20M across the State of Missouri involving tax credit syndication, low income housing, and quality living homes. Administered accurate quantity take-offs, estimates, competitive bidding, and contract negotiation.

Internship in the University of Missouri Honors College Civic Leaders Internship Program, duties included interviewing Boards and Commissions political candidates and reported findings to Deputy Chief of Staff and Governor Bob Holden. Became first paid intern in Governor’s office system.
