The Middle Office team sits within the Finance function reporting into the Head of Operational Finance. Risk control is its primary objective ensuring all positions and trades executed with major global investment banks (brokers), supporting the company's hedging strategy, are booked correctly.Key achievements:- Successfully offshored the team's tasks and processes from London to Poland in eight months having recruited and trained a new Middle Office team in Krakow- Set-up, tested and signed-off new trading, client and cash accounts with IG's broker which enabled the launch of share dealing in Netherlands, Germany, Australia and France supporting the company's product global expansion strategy- Onboarded new brokers to ensure IG could:i) execute trades to cover hedging requirements for the leveraged businessii) hold client assets for the non-leveraged share dealing businessKey responsibilities:- Managed team of six in London and four in Krakow overseeing their personal development and training needs- Supported and advised the IG's trading teams covering leveraged products (share CFDs, indices, commodities, fx, options, rates and bitcoin) and non-leveraged share dealing- Reviewed and signed-off the team's daily and monthly reconciliation reports of the broker accounts- MI reporting on IG's liquidity status and broker margin requirements- Built and maintained strong and effective broker relationships. Point of escalation for the brokers supporting them with account and trading issues- Advised and supported internal teams from trading, IT, legal, compliance, treasury, risk and other finance teams who required my knowledge and expertise on existing or new broker relationships- Key stakeholder on new company initiatives which required broker interaction- Managed the FCA regulatory broker cash and asset exposure limits alongside risk, trading and treasury- Assisted internal and external auditors with their requirements

Key achievements:- Onboarded new brokers to execute and hold US equity CFDs and Foreign Exchange currency pairs to support the company's hedging requirements.- Promoted to Middle Office ManagerKey responsibilities:- Validated and produced IG's daily trading revenue report for senior management and key stakeholders- Delivered daily and monthly reconciliation of broker accounts across multiple financial trading instruments; identifying and resolving daily position and trade breaks plus investigating and fixing monthly variances on commission, p&l, cash debits/credits, cash interest and dividends - Trained junior team members and offered support with their daily needs

- Monitored the exposure risk between client trades and IG's own hedging trades ensuring market risk was controlled within acceptable limits- Produced reports for the trading teams highlighting the trading limits which had been breached and whether the action taken was made with an acceptable timeframe- Stress testing - applied test scenarios to IG's liquidity resources so treasury and the risk committee could take the necessary action of implementing safety measures if required

- Produced daily and monthly broker reconciliation reports- Generated a daily report for the finance cash/treasury teams highlighting broker margin requirements and if in deficit it was paid in a timely manner. - Produced a daily liquidity report for senior management showing IG's available cash position

- Opened new client trading accounts- First point of contact for prospective/new clients explaining spread betting products - Took phone trades during busy markets

- Front line customer services, answering clients questions, explaining trade platform functionality, resolving disputes, taking client cash payments etc

- Sent out client trade statements - Admin work opening client accounts
