I am a real estate asset management and operations strategist who de-risks each investment and portfolio asset opportunity with a keen ability to discern the potential and pitfalls of any deal structure. I curate and capitalize on investment transactions for properties and portfolios where we can maximize value through development, operational enhancement, and property repositioning. I have completed more than $10 billion of commercial real estate investments with returns exceeding industry benchmarks with realizations on $2 billion of invested equity at an approximate multiple of 3.0, at an aggregate IRR greater than 25 percent. My investment theses have been consistently proven in transactions, including entity-level mergers and acquisitions in office, retail, industrial, multifamily, parking, and mixed-use developments. I have enjoyed a purposeful, 25+ year investment career (and counting) holding C-suite leadership positions investing on behalf of public and private stakeholders, private equity, as well as with my own capital as co-founder of TriCoastal Group. In my career, I have closely collaborated with industry giants including Sam Zell, Tim Callahan, Rob Maguire, and Peter Morris. Today’s real estate investment environment is fraught with economic pitfalls that are nearly impossible to predict unless you’ve navigated even harder markets- and that, I have. I’ve experienced the Savings and Loan crisis in the ‘80s (with a stunning oversupply of 1MSF office buildings), the financial crisis of the early '90s (with a liquidity freeze shutting down the banking system), and the Technology bubble and burst (2000-2003), the Subprime meltdown/Great Financial Crisis (2007-2009), and the Global Pandemic. Throughout each cycle, we emerged with healthy assets as the demand for real estate recovered. While I’ll always remain active and interested in structuring unique transactions, I’m also committed to sharing my expertise as a mentor to the next generation of investors. Today, I serve corporations and executives, either out front leading teams or coaching behind the scenes, as a risk mitigation advisor who helps source opportunistic investments in the commercial sector, residential and specialty assets including data centers, storage, and life sciences. If you’d like to explore a potential collaboration opportunity, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m happy to entertain meaningful exploratory conversations and connections.
