I taught two sections of introductory composition courses per semester with each section consisting of approximately 15-25 students. The courses, English 101 and English 102, focused on introducing students to university level writing and research practices. In this role, I developed syllabi and unique assignments for each of these courses, incorporating my knowledge of gaming to create a unique and fun learning environment.In addition to my teaching, I also conducted research in the English Department's Media, Cinema and Digital Studies plan. My research focused on the study of video games as texts and their relation to other media. In this capacity, I presented my research at several prominent conferences, including the Society for Cinema and Media Studies annual conference and the bi-annual Meaningful Play conference held at Michigan State University.

While at Bowling Green, I conducted research into various aspects of popular culture with a particular emphasis on video games. My research culminated in a 90-page thesis project as well as several presentations at national conferences, including the Popular Culture Association annual conference. I also taught Introduction to Popular Culture, a general education course offered by the university. In this capacity, I developed a syllabus and criteria for assessing students' performance in the class while also creating materials to promote student engagement in the class. Additionally, I wrote and graded quizzes and tests for the class and assigned grades accordingly.

As a research assistant, I helped professors in the Department of Popular Culture conduct their own research. My main duties included editing manuscripts for cohesion and clarity and to ensure they adhered to the style guidelines outlined by the publisher.

Main duties included content generation, including coverage of police and fire services in three municipalities with a total population of approximately 15,000. Additionally, I covered local courts and one local government, developing contacts in each organization. I produced and edited multimedia packages of stories on tight deadlines by conducting interviews and research as well as capturing and editing my own photos and videos to accompany the print story. Stories I produced included in-depth features, breaking news and short briefs. I helped produce the paper itself by reading and editing individual stories and entire pages before sending them to the press.Additional duties included coordination of the paper's social media strategy and laying out pages using Adobe InDesign.

This position was a combination of management and content creation. I coordinated coverage of the local area with editors of four affiliated papers while managing a small staff of writers and photographers. Each week I would assign and edit stories while overseeing the layout of the paper. Additionally, I developed contacts in the local community in order to write stories. I produced several news stories, features and editorials each week in addition to taking photos to accompany my stories.
