In my 30+ plus years of book publishing experience, I've served across a broad range of functions, including: editorial, sales, marketing, language rights and co-editions, strategic planning, production, distribution, and management.I've worked for publishers in Taiwan, Germany, and the USA, focusing on children's books, early learning, elementary and higher education, martial arts, arts, architecture and photography, and general interest.I helped launch Kumon Publishing North America, a subsidiary of Kumon Publishing, headquarted in Japan, in 2004. We started with 8 titles and two customers. We are now one of the world's best known consumer-facing educational publishers. Our books are widely distributed in the UK and Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa, and in US retail and internet accounts such as B&N, BAM, Amazon, Staples, Costco, BJs, Sams, indepdendent bookstores, educational accounts, and toy stores.I have in-depth experience working with key players in the book retail market, including B&N, Amazon, Indigo/Chapters, Costco, Walmart, Target and Staples.I am uniquely positioned to establish and oversee new US subsidiaries of established overseas publishing companies, or to manage publishing start-ups.Specialties: US and international sales; executive management; rights and co-editions; strategic partnerships; editorial development; opening key accounts and establishing sales/distribution networks.I am also a writer of novels and screenplays. My Inspector Lu Fei mystery series was published by Macmillan's Minotaur imprint; and a found-footage horror movie I wrote, produced and co-directed will debut spring 2025.
