Beaker Implementation Project Manager, leading team of Beaker analysts adding on the Clinical Pathology, Anatomic Pathology , Molecular Pathology and a new Blood Bank system to the already existing Epic EMR. The implementation covers over 14 clinical laboratories.

Beaker team lead and analyst for the implementation of the Epic Clinical Pathology and Anatomic Pathology modules at St Jude. In this role I led a team of 8 Beaker analysts. The project consisted of standard CP and AP implementation along with a heavy focus on molecular testing and Genomics. The Beaker install was part of an enterprise implementation of the Epic system.

Team Lead and analyst for the Beaker CP and AP addon project at the Cleveland Clinic. Project consists of implementing and rolling out Beaker to all Cleveland Clinic laboratories.

In this role, I was overseeing the implementation of Epic Beaker for a 322-bed, $1B revenue community hospital (Self Regional Healthcare) serving 7 counties. I supervised a staff of 4 and serve as a liaison between the project and the laboratory. My responsibilities include identifying risks and requirements, setting timelines, directing the system build of the Microbiology department and all reference lab sendout tests, and incorporating 2 new hospital labs into an existing system.Selected Accomplishments:• Led the build, test, and clinical validation of 550 (out of 1,000) tests to date, on time and in budget.• Improved productivity for the Microbiology department by recommending a different build format.• Saved more than $300,000 by recommending an upgrade to the existing blood bank system vs. replacing it with a new system.

Project involved managing the implementation of the Epic Optime to a new ambulatory Surgical Center and implementation of Epic Stork for a new midwifery. I supervised a team of 75 analysts in the U.S. and India.

While in this role, I directed the implementation of Beaker Clinical and Anatomical pathology systems for a $4B academic health system with more than 15 major facilities in Florida (University of Florida Health System). The project encompassed 75 instrument integrations and multiple reference lab interfaces. I supervised 12 analysts, built send out tests, and assisted with the Microbiology build.Selected Accomplishments:• Partnered with Epic and Beaker analysts to determine the best Beaker system build to integrate with critical cutting-edge molecular testing equipment.

I planned and led the implementation of Epic Beaker Laboratory Information System (LIS) at HealthEast Care System. This project included 4 hospital labs, a large outreach service, and more than 75 instrument integrations. I supervised a staff of 10 in the replacement of all clinical and financial systems and oversaw data conversions, microbiology build, specimen label builds, issue resolution, and final validation.Selected Accomplishments:• Resolved a critical issue to ensure compatibility of labels printed in physician offices.

As System Director of Ambulatory IT, I retained all responsibilities for Summa Physician’s Inc and added the technical support of an additional 230 community physicians. My mission was to connect the community using technology in order to share clinical data between care providers and ultimately improve the care of patients.Selected Accomplishments:• Obtained more than $8M in government incentives through Meaningful Use compliance.• Saved more than $100,000 per year by eliminating duplicate testing of patients.

Responsible for all IT needs of a multispecialty physician group with over 275 providers. This included the implementation of an ambulatory EMR (eClinicalWorks), creation of a 24/7 support structure , and continual improvement within the business using technology. Built a technology team from the ground up to support this mission, project managed the implementation of the ambulatory EMR and its roll out. Successfully implemented and met all the requirements of Meaningful Use for the group allowing the organization to attest and receive incentive dollars from the government for over 95% of our providers.Selected Accomplishments:• Designed and launched a 24x7 support structure and deployed eClinicalWorks for all locations.• Rolled out the EMR to more than 75 locations in 2 years.

During this time, I directed all technology operations for a startup teleradiology company that was a joint venture between Summa Health and a group of radiologists. I selected and implemented the radiology, image management, and financial systems. In addition, I hired and led a staff of 10 that provided 24x7 support.Selected Accomplishments:• Played a major role in building the company from startup to more than $1M in the first 2 years.

I represented the regional information technology department (ITD) at one of its largest community hospitals (Hillcrest Hospital). I provided a single point of contact between the hospital and ITD to assist the hospital in reaching their business goals. I was a member of the hospital’s executive leadership team, bridging the gap between business strategy and technology.

Worked as Consultant for labortory information system installs. Traveled to clients that were in need of a subject matter expert for Sunquest laboratory system to help them complete their installations, stabilize after go live or improve their use of the application during an optimization phase.

Started with Ernst & Young in 1998 as a healthcare consultant specializing on Healthcare IT. I was the project manager for a client implementing the Softlab system in their dialysis laboratory. Additionally I learned Cloverleaf interface engine and acted as an interface analyst for a client for 1.5 years.

Implementation consultant responsible for the project management, training and support of multiple clients during their installation of the Sunquest laboratory system. Successfully led over 15 clients through their implementations and supported multiple other clients during their go live.

Started off as a phlebotomist working my way through college. I moved into the position of a laboratory technician as a generalist on evening shift.
