District K-8 Mathematics Specialist
Current• Designed and delivered professional learning for hundreds of K-8 mathematics teachers on topics such as: number sense and fluency development, differentiated instruction, higher-order questioning, problem solving, inquiry-based teaching, fraction fluency, and IKAN and GloSS assessments. • Served as project manager for GADOE's mathematics video project since 2016. Created two videos on progression of expressions and equations in Grades 5 and 6 in 2019. Also served as lead editor of the GA mathematics frameworks for Grade 6 mathematics; created and published multiple tasks for the Georgia Standards of Excellence Frameworks.• Modeled engaging and challenging lessons in multiple classrooms across the district in grades K-5.• Led the development and revision of rigorous and balanced common district assessments in grades K-8; chief editor of all district mathematics assessments in grades K-5.• Worked closely with school principals and assistant principals to identify data-driven school improvement goals.• Created a county-wide K-5 mathematics teacher leaders team to distribute instructional leadership and coaching more efficiently across a large suburban school district.• Designed and organized multimedia mathematics teaching resources for grades K-8 in digital learning management system.• Coordinator of annual county mathematics tournament since 2013 (serving over 200 students each year).• Coordinated multiple cohorts of a state-approved K-5 mathematics endorsement program for elementary teachers.• Speaker at multiple parent/curriculum nights about State Mathematics Standards.• Served on state task force for the development of course standards for Foundations of Algebra; trained middle and high school teachers across the state on course content and pedagogy.• Member of the Georgia Mathematics Teacher Advisory Council. • Presenter at the annual meeting of the Georgia Council for Teachers of Mathematics every year since 2015.
