Recognized expert with over 24 years experience in fire dynamics, machine learning, advanced modeling, material response in fires, heat transfer, and robotics and technology for firefighting. Experience leading numerous interdisciplinary teams in fundamental and applied research efforts to solve complex multi-physics problems involving fire, including the thermo-structural response of materials during fires, material ignition and burning, and fielding of robotic systems for firefighting and disaster response. He has developed innovative methods for material property determination and advanced measurement techniques during fires as well as models for material response and fire dynamics.
