About Brian Lear

Having a diverse background in Plastics Manufacturing and Power Industry, I started as an engineer and proceeded to Outage and Projects and then in to Management of a 2500 MW Power Plant. I held positions in engineering, maintenance and corporate levels, which broadens ones view and aids in decision making process. The time I spent at a corporate level, expanded my view and developed my business acumen. My years in projects has given me the skills and understanding of how to properly manage projects from cradle to grave. Having computer skills aids in data analysis, and has served me well in my different positions. I lead with a management style that empowers people to make decisions and support their actions. When you give people a clear direction and latitude to perform, you give people a sense of value and worth. Then you praise their accomplishments, and hold them accountable for the results. When you build a TEAM and develop a common vision, you will achieve more than as individual is able. Using innovation technique with a group of diverse people, will yield astonishing results and increased efficiency. This style of management has to hold safety and environmentally aspects in the highest regards. When managing large groups of people to small groups, you have to adapt to the situation and learn different tactics to achieve your goal, but they are all founded in the same principles. These attributes are what I strive to display and are what I look for in a company.
