• Developed software for FDA regulated medical devices.• Created GUI for the Cellient Automated Cell Block System. Application software was created using National Instruments’ LabVIEW development tools, and deployed on Windows XP Embedded operating system. Analog and Digital I/O, along with motion control, programmed using Galil multi-axis motion controllers.• Collaborated across engineering disciplines (mechanical and electrical) for successful integration of software.• Led Beta site installation of a Cellient unit. This included the preparation, installation, training, and customer support of pre-released instrument in a hospital lab environment. The goal of the beta testing was to run the instrument in parallel with existing technologies for split sample analysis. During the testing, frequent customer communication and visits were required. Testing resulted in deployment of production system.• Participated in daily scrums throughout the Cellient project.• Frequently coordinate software releases to product evaluation group (SQA).• Preparation of the necessary release documentation and procedures required for FDA traceability, including updating Design History Files (DHF).• Support and enhance existing Imager Application software using Microsoft Visual Studio. • Project leader and individual contributor for the next generation data-reporting tools. Management tasks include schedule tracking and resource assignment. In addition to project management tasks, designing and implementing new Windows application to be used by the design engineers to collect data on their bench top. Tool is being developed in Visual C++/MFC. Additional components being developed using Visual Basic and MS-Excel VBA.• Designed and developed next generation data parsing tool. Tool is designed to parse formatted ASCII files into Oracle Loader files, for bulk inserts into an Oracle 9i database. Tool runs as a console application in Win32 environment. Developed using C++ and the Standard Template Libraries (STL) to support a potential transfer to a UNIX platform. Connection to the Oracle 9i database uses Oracle Objects for OLE.• Designed, implemented, and delivered data translation tool, Xlate. Xlate is designed to translate formatted binary data into a formatted ASCII file. This is a key component that links two disparate test processes together as a result of the Quantum/Maxtor merger. Developed using ANSI C++, making use of the Standard Template Libraries (STL). Received a Maxtor High Five Employee Recognition award for an outstanding job done.• Maintain existing data parsing tool. Tool is designed to read an ASCII text file and import data into MSSQL Server. The tool is written using Borland C++ and the Borland Database Engine (BDE).• Provide daily support to the drive engineering community in the collection and analysis of test data. Current test data tools are client/server and web based applications, connecting to MS-SQL Server 7.0 databases worldwide. Components of the system are written in Visual Basic, Visual C++, and ASP. Data is maintained using MS Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer and native MS-SQL commands.

• Previous development projects include MS-Windows based products using MFC/Visual C++, C, and MSAccess. Projects were service tools used by field representatives and application engineers to maintain Fire Alarm Control Panels.• Managed a small group of R&D system engineers dedicated to solving customer issues and deliver software solutions, including released, pre-released and service pack versions.• R&D liaison to departments within Simplex. Interaction with field representatives and technical support engineers to resolve customer situations. Numerous site visits as R&D representative to assist with some of these situations.• Coordinated, installed, & supported prototype sites for major product release on Windows’ 2000 platform. Sites included corporate HQ and pre-existing customers. The goal of the testing was to upgrade existing systems to the latest development kits and test the product in a live environment. Installs proved to be successful, customers were satisfied and many software defects were identified/repaired as a result of this testing.
