Associate General Counsel
Current• Leads the company’s entire Legal Department (with the exception of the General Counsel).• Collaborates with the company’s Government Relations Department and external lobbyist to review and determine impact of proposed legislation. Collaboration includes drafting amendments and position statements, and participating in meetings with representatives of the bill’s author(s) and trade groups. • Drafts, negotiates, and reviews contracts covering a wide range of topics including, but not limited to, SaaS, employment, asset purchases and divestitures, healthcare, professional services, hardware purchases, e-commerce, EV charging stations, IP licensing, information security, licenses, real estate transactions, confidentiality, and consumer privacy.• Counsels all business departments, executive leadership, and the Board of Directors on compliance and regulatory matters covering topics that include, but are not limited to, employment and labor, employee benefits, contract disputes, privacy laws such as HIPAA and the CCPA/CPRA, advertising and marketing, transportation, product labeling, food safety, and pandemic response. • Develops and drafts employment and other company policies.• Provides in-house training to the Human Resources team.• Led a cross-functional team to develop the company’s updated team member hotline where all team members can express ideas, recommendations, concerns, or complaints in an anonymous manner and ensure their voices are heard. • Was a key member of a cross-functional team that reviewed the company’s respect and inclusion efforts and collaborated with external experts to develop a strategy to enhance the company’s respect and inclusion programs.• Oversees the work of outside counsel and manages litigation.• Assists the General Counsel with maintaining the Legal Department’s budget.
