CurrentThe Education Annex was established to serve as a rural base for educational programs. We have restored and repurposed an important heritage complex that can accommodate up to 30 students and teachers. Additionally, it has two large classrooms, a library, dining hall, music room, TV/activity center, and outdoor gardens. The Annex is home to programs as diverse as Sidwell Friends (Presidents Obama and Clinton's children's school) semester program, Shanghai American School's Microcampus: four monthlong academic immersion in the small village of Xizhou, graduate classes with Indiana University and Middlebury College, and one-two weeklong summer and winter camps that focus on Filmmaking, Creative Writing, Architecture, Environment, and Traditional Chinese Literati Culture. Our programs are all mentored by international and domestic experts in their respective fields. The Annex has expanded to Suzhou and now hosts similar programs only an 80 minute drive from Shanghai.
